Through the IGF US-Fund (recognized with 501(c)(3) status), established in 2020, we now offer US donors the possibility of direct donation deduction in the USA. The processing is cost-effective, unbureaucratic and efficient. The fund not only supports U.S. citizens who wish to donate to a charitable organization in Germany, but also offers German organizations the opportunity to collect donations specifically in the U.S.
The IGF US-Fund may accept contributions in cash (by check, money order, wire transfer or online by credit card) or in valued assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds or real estate – bequests for inclusion in a fund are also possible.
The IGF US-Fund sends each donor a confirmation of his donation. Donors are advised to keep this confirmation as a receipt for the purpose of proof of donation. This confirms that no goods or services were provided in return for the donation.
Please note that there is a minimum donation of $5,000 to the IGF US-Fund and that the administrative process described below usually takes between two and four weeks.
Donors resident in the USA can support charitable projects and organizations in Germany in a tax-efficient way by contributing to the “DSZ – International Giving Foundation US-Fund” with our partner, the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS). Since the KBFUS is a public charitable organization within the meaning of sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the IRC, donors can take advantage of the maximum tax benefits permitted under U.S. tax law for their contribution.
