Donors from the USA can now conveniently support German non-profit organizations through the DSZ - International Giving Foundation US-Fund. The procedure enables persons resident in the USA to obtain a tax receipt for their US tax return.

IGF US-Funds

Through the IGF US-Fund (recognized with 501(c)(3) status), established in 2020, we now offer US donors the possibility of direct donation deduction in the USA. The processing is cost-effective, unbureaucratic and efficient. The fund not only supports U.S. citizens who wish to donate to a charitable organization in Germany, but also offers German organizations the opportunity to collect donations specifically in the U.S.

Payment methods and proof of payment

The IGF US Fund can only accept contributions in cash (money order, wire transfer or online by credit card). The IGF US Fund sends each donor a confirmation of their contribution. Donors are advised to keep this confirmation as a receipt for the purpose of proving the donation. This confirms that no goods or services were provided in exchange for the donation.

Please note that there is a minimum annual donation amount of USD 2,500.00 to the IGF US-Fund and that the administrative process described below (acceptance and acknowledgment of the donation in the USA and transfer to Germany) usually takes between two and six weeks.

US-based donors can support charitable projects and organizations in Germany in a tax-efficient way by contributing to the “DSZ – International Giving Foundation US Fund” at our partner, every.org. On the every.org website you will find the DSZ – International Giving Foundation and can select various payment options under the “Donate” button. Calculation of the free donation share

  • 8% to 100.000,00 USD
  • 5% between 100.000,00 USD and 400.000,00 USD
  • 2,5 % between 400.000,00 USD and 700.000,00 USD
  • 1% for any amount over USD 700,000.00

The DSZ – International Giving Foundation US Fund is a registered charitable organization with 501©(3) status that partners with Myriad USA (New York), one of the leading resources for international philanthropic activities.

*Transparency is important to DSZ – International Giving Foundation. In order to forward and process your donation according to non-profit standards and to cover the expenses, DSZ – International Giving Foundation retains a small variable portion of the donation, depending on the total amount of your donation, as a free donation share. You will of course receive a donation receipt for the full amount received.
