Unite data. Defeat cancer.

The HIPPO AI Foundation aims to create the world’s most comprehensive and inclusive open database for the fight against breast cancer. Such data sets can help defeat cancer by teaching artificial intelligence how to recognize it. The larger and more diverse the data set, the more accurately, reliably and quickly an algorithm can detect a tumor in a mammogram presented to it. That’s why we need data, because it can save lives; this is not the first database for machine learning and disease detection. There are many and an overwhelming majority are in the hands of private companies. And here the current setup is fundamentally flawed: When a commercial company builds AI, it builds it according to their definition of success. It builds them for stakeholders, for revenue, for profit. Not for you.

The HIPPO AI Foundation started its humanitarian mission to create medical artificial intelligence as a common good.
